It is a useful option when you are looking for more steering, by moving the flex point further forward on the chassis.
The Flex Upper Deck comes with a stiffener plate to easily adjust the flexibility of the upper deck; with the stiffener plate installed the torsional stiffness is the same as the standard upper deck.
